Description

  • Analyze customer requirements and validate them through analysis, modeling, prototyping, or prior product performance.
  • Create and maintain hardware requirements specifications and hardware interface control documents.
  • Perform SPICE analysis, MATLAB/Simulink modeling, and circuit design using Altium/OrCAD tools.
  • Design magnetics, EMI filters, inductors, and other input/output filter circuits.
  • Select components and manage obsolescence across electronics designs.
  • Develop schematics, hardware design documents, and input for PCB layout.
  • Perform worst-case load, derating, thermal, and performance margin analyses.
  • Bring up PCB boards, create functional test procedures, and execute hardware verification testing.
  • Generate design verification test procedure documents and test reports.
  • Review and process engineering changes for water and waste systems and equipment.
  • Support or lead technical teams, small to medium projects, and improvement initiatives.
  • Review, check, and approve work from peers and lower-level engineers, and provide guidance and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of electronics experience.
  • Desired experience in mixed-signal design.
  • Experience with electrical circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE.
  • Experience with system-level simulation tools such as PSIM or MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Hands-on experience with Altium/OrCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, PSIM, PSPICE, and test equipment such as programmable power supplies, high-speed digital oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • Design-level understanding of communication protocols such as CAN, ARINC, SPI, and RS-232.
  • Experience applying aerospace regulations such as RTCA/DO-160 and RTCA/DO-254.
  • Knowledge of major aerospace OEM electronics design guidelines.
  • Ability to travel periodically, approximately 5-10 days per quarter.
  • Ability to move around the office as part of the role's physical demands.
