Description

  • Define electrical requirements and select components for the human-robot interface subsystem.
  • Design and test Apollo’s audio and display subsystems.
  • Ensure electrical designs meet EMI/EMC standards and support safety certifications such as UL and CE.
  • Design, simulate, implement, and test multi-layer mixed-signal PCBAs.
  • Develop validation and test plans, create test fixtures, and execute compliance testing for performance and regulatory standards.
  • Own the full lifecycle of power hardware systems from concept and architecture through production release and ongoing support.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, contract manufacturers, and external design services.
  • Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers on hardware design, documentation, processes, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of industry experience in audio electronics, with a focus on acoustic electronics design for smart speakers, headphones, or robotics.
  • Expert proficiency with modern schematic capture and PCB layout tools such as Altium Designer.
  • Experience designing and executing electrical and audio validation tests using tools such as Audio Precision, SoundCheck, or B&K HATS.
  • Preferred knowledge of microphones, speakers, audio amplifiers, I2S, signal conditioning and filtering, A/D and D/A converters, and digital signal processing (DSP).
  • Nice-to-have understanding of Thiele/Small parameters, lumped element modeling, and non-linear distortion mechanisms.
  • Nice-to-have proficiency with simulation tools such as COMSOL, LEAP, or equivalent.
  • Nice-to-have experience designing high-performance audio systems where physical acoustics are critical to system-level accuracy.
  • Nice-to-have background in adaptive filtering, array processing, and speech enhancement algorithms.
  • Nice-to-have familiarity with signal processing requirements for ASR engines and wake-word systems.
