Description

  • Develop highly reliable and scalable data analysis libraries, systems, and data pipelines that support engineers across SpaceX.
  • Create new applications that improve how SpaceX operates.
  • Collaborate with peers on architecture, design, and code reviews.
  • Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints.
  • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
  • Work with domain experts to investigate and resolve complex engineering problems.
  • Design and produce solutions that help SpaceX move quickly toward its mission objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, math, physics, or a scientific discipline, or 2+ years of professional software development experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 1+ years of experience in full stack development, software engineering, data engineering, or data science.
  • Programming experience in Python, C#, or similar languages.
  • Experience with data analysis libraries such as Python Pandas.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries like SciPi and PyTorch.
  • Experience with data exploration tools such as Grafana, Jupyter Notebooks, Metabase, PowerBI, or similar.
  • Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Experience building web APIs and applications using Microsoft .NET.
  • Experience applying computer vision libraries such as OpenCV and Ultralytics to real-world problems.
  • Good understanding of version control, testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Some front-end experience in Angular, React, or a similar JavaScript framework.
  • Good understanding of statistics, machine learning algorithms, and frameworks.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
  • Willingness to travel when needed.
  • Must meet ITAR eligibility requirements as a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.
