Description

  • Design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for satellite communications.
  • Own the electrical system design, implementation, and verification for customer-facing hardware products.
  • Drive system trade studies, requirements capture, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, hardware bring-up, debugging, documentation, manufacturing, and test.
  • Support hardware through production, satellite integration, and flight.
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, production test, supply chain, and silicon design teams.
  • Develop physical and digital tools to analyze data collected on orbit and in the lab and improve designs.
  • Work across adjacent engineering disciplines to deliver tightly integrated, high-performance hardware.
  • Challenge assumptions and help find simple solutions to complex problems.
  • Contribute to the design and performance of next-generation gateways and environmental hardware robustness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or another engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of professional experience designing circuits, electronic products, or hardware.
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a similar engineering degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly reliable products preferred.
  • 2+ years of electronic product experience designing hardware from concept through production, with emphasis on full life-cycle new product development preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit boards using processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi-GHz SerDes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4), I2C, SPI, op amps, ADCs, DACs, and power supply components preferred.
  • 2+ years of professional experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics preferred.
  • Strong understanding of computers and programming languages such as Python, C, or C++ preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for mission-critical deadlines.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements and be a U.S. citizen/national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorization.
