Description

  • Design, develop, and manage automation projects from factory ideation through machine commissioning, rate validation, and handoff to operations.
  • Architect, write, and debug PLC code for high-volume manufacturing applications.
  • Implement safe and reliable control systems for robots, gantries, conveyors, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Create simple HMI screens that make complex machines easy to operate and troubleshoot.
  • Integrate equipment into master SCADA and MES systems.
  • Design electrical systems that comply with NEC, NFPA, and UL508A requirements.
  • Create schedules and budgets and drive the team to meet project milestones.
  • Optimize existing systems while developing novel equipment to improve factory efficiency and reduce risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a chemical discipline.
  • 1+ years of experience with high-speed manufacturing, controls and automation, and/or programming; internship and extracurricular experience may count.
  • Experience in a quick, iterative design and manufacturing environment (preferred).
  • Ability to solve complex problems with simple solutions in both design and implementation stages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make collaborative, cross-functional recommendations.
  • Ability to engineer creative solutions while adhering to ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA safety requirements.
  • Experience with hazardous-process systems in aerospace, oil and gas, or chemical industries (preferred).
  • Experience in at least one of the following: electrical/industrial controls or industrial software.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial electrical troubleshooting tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and EMI probes (preferred).
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed to support critical milestones.
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State export authorizations under ITAR.
