Description

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy for Sonar in Japan, with the goal of doubling market share within three years.
  • Own revenue growth in Japan across new logo acquisition, account expansion, and customer retention.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing sales and operations team.
  • Identify and pursue market expansion opportunities specific to the Japanese market.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to guide strategic decisions.
  • Lead high-level negotiations with major Japanese conglomerates and strategic partners.
  • Collaborate with global leadership to align local execution with Sonar’s broader business strategy.
  • Design and implement sales methodologies and processes tailored to the Japanese market.
  • Build relationships with industry leaders and represent Sonar in the Japanese tech ecosystem.
  • Represent Sonar at industry conferences, speaking engagements, and customer meetings.
  • Provide regular forecasts, performance updates, and strategic recommendations to global leadership.
  • Drive product localization efforts to better serve Japanese customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in technology sales and leadership.
  • At least 10 years in executive roles managing large teams and driving revenue growth in Japan.
  • Proven success scaling sales organizations and operations in the Japanese market.
  • Strong ability to attract, recruit, and retain top talent.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise sales cycles, solution selling, and value-based selling in Japan.
  • Experience influencing and negotiating at the C-suite level in Japanese and global business contexts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights and plans.
  • Advanced knowledge of CRM systems and modern sales technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or another relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency required.
  • Deep understanding of Japanese business culture, etiquette, and negotiation practices.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Japan and occasionally internationally.
  • Experience working with partners, IT-enabled Services (ITES), Commercial, and Enterprise segments in Japan.
  • Demonstrated thought leadership in software development or a related field.
  • Proven ability to work across cultures and align global strategies with local market needs.
