Description

  • Research complex accounting issues to support new programs, transactions, products, and programs at deal speed.
  • Document technical accounting conclusions for significant accounting matters, including large transactions and new or amended offerings.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures related to significant accounting matters and accounting standard changes.
  • Develop, maintain, and update the company’s accounting policies.
  • Monitor FASB, SEC, and other regulatory standard-setting activity and support impact assessments and implementation.
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, controllership, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with technical accounting and regulatory standards.
  • Work with internal and external auditors to support efficient audits and related procedures.
  • Support special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, process improvements, development initiatives, and systems implementations.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in public accounting or a mix of public accounting and industry experience.
  • Financial services and/or software and technology industry experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations, with research proficiency in the applicable literature.
  • IFRS and bank regulatory experience are preferred.
  • Experience reading and analyzing legal agreements, including sale agreements, revenue contracts, and financial instruments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-accountants.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience with accounting and project management tools such as Microsoft Excel, Jira, Workday, and Workiva is preferred.
