Description

  • Lead developers, designers, artists, animators, and testers in co-development with client teams to deliver video games.
  • Manage project risks proactively using project management methodologies.
  • Create roadmaps and task breakdowns and keep client stakeholders informed on status and risks.
  • Forecast project costs, maintain financials, and coordinate invoicing.
  • Coach, mentor, and support team members through regular 1-on-1s and annual performance reviews.
  • Evaluate priorities, staffing, and resources and adjust plans to respond to changing requirements.
  • Present project updates and reviews to company leadership, internal teams, and clients.
  • Use creative problem solving to unblock the team and navigate ambiguity.
  • Playtest games and gather, communicate, and distribute player feedback across internal teams.
  • Contribute to studio-wide process improvements and travel to client offices for relationship building.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of leadership experience in gaming production, game project management, or consumer-facing software application development for external stakeholders.
  • 4+ years of project management experience across methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Kanban.
  • Experience initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing software development projects from pitch to certification.
  • Experience leading delivery on at least one project with a team of 5+ members and a budget of $200K+ CAD.
  • Experience planning, estimating, scheduling, and tracking work across development, design, art, and test disciplines.
  • Experience using project and product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, ADO, Excel, Miro, Figma, and Trello.
  • Understanding of cross-discipline workflows and pipelines including art, engineering, design, QA, and animation.
  • Experience managing scope, resource allocation, financials, contracts, risk management, and dependency tracking.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting and growing medium-sized teams of 5 or more people with high autonomy.
  • Experience providing mentorship, guidance, and constructive feedback, with a people-first and emotionally intelligent approach.
  • Experience creating psychologically safe, collaborative, and high-morale team environments.
  • Experience with game publishing and a shipped title, preferred.
  • Familiarity with multiple game engines, platforms, and genres, preferred.
  • Experience with direct reports and annual performance evaluations, preferred.
  • Comfort contributing to pitches and contract discussions, preferred.
  • Experience managing distributed teams across time zones and cultures, preferred.
  • Education or background in IT, interactive media, digital art, software testing, game design, or software development, preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and reside in Ontario.
  • Ability to work remote/hybrid with at least one annual visit to Ottawa.
  • Primary working language is English.
