Description

  • Build and implement UI art and animations for game interfaces.
  • Work closely with UX, designers, and engineers to set up screens and animations.
  • Create UI layouts and high-fidelity graphics with the Lead Artist.
  • Integrate UI assets and animations in-engine within technical specifications across multiple platforms.
  • Rapidly iterate on solutions to design challenges while following creative and art direction.
  • Incorporate feedback from multiple departments to deliver a polished, bug-free user experience.
  • Assist the Lead Artist with additional production duties as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience developing interactive interfaces in a game engine or web-based UI editors and tools.
  • At least one shipped game title.
  • An exceptional online portfolio featuring examples of 2D UI work.
  • Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Animation, Motion Graphics, Illustration, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Unity, Unreal, or another game engine.
  • Ability to translate complex information into a user-friendly layout.
  • Strong understanding of art and animation fundamentals as applied to game assets.
  • Strong visual design skills, including composition, layout, typography, and colour theory.
  • Expert knowledge of 2D art tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Animate, and After Effects.
  • Ability to accept direction and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for problem-solving, strong organizational skills, analytical skills, and an obsession with pixel-perfect design.
  • Must be currently located in British Columbia, ideally in the greater Vancouver area.

  • Salary range of $50,000 to $70,000 CAD.
