Description

  • Create visual work that elevates and evolves the Smartsheet brand identity.
  • Lead project execution and review work produced by junior designers and contractors.
  • Develop flexible design systems, component libraries, mood boards, comps, concept sketches, presentation decks, style guides, and storyboards.
  • Own projects from initial concept through final delivery and determine the best way to present work to stakeholders.
  • Manage large-scale projects and deadlines while helping junior designers manage their time and resources.
  • Explain design decisions clearly and guide stakeholder feedback to keep work aligned with the brief and strategic goals.
  • Partner with technology and project management teams to ensure creative, strategic, and technical alignment.
  • Identify and commission specialists such as artists and photographers for unique projects.
  • Perform other assigned job duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Must reside in Costa Rica and be eligible for remote work within Costa Rica.
  • 5+ years of experience in mid- to senior-level roles focused on marketing collateral, brand systems, and digital strategy for technology companies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, relevant studies and certifications, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Cloud, Firefly, and Express.
  • Ability to think strategically and understand organizational resources and company processes.
  • Proven ability to manage several large, complex projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience anticipating stakeholder needs and taking ownership of project outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of global trends and the ability to design for diverse regions and languages, including Generative and Agentic AI contexts.
  • Entrepreneurial, fast-paced mindset with the ability to balance rapid iteration and high-quality output.
  • Bonus skills include After Effects, Google and Microsoft Office document design, and web tools or technologies such as Figma, Zeplin, Webflow, HTML/CSS, and Drupal.
