Description

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting and finance matters in India, supporting the India Country Manager and local operations teams.
  • Lead the India accounting function by managing the outsourced accounting firm and overseeing the monthly close process.
  • Ensure financial reporting is accurate and compliant with US GAAP, Indian GAAP, and internal company policies.
  • Review and approve key month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany transactions for the India entity.
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews with the international accounting team and provide clear analysis and support for reported figures.
  • Lead the end-to-end financial statement audit process for the India entity and serve as the main liaison with external auditors.
  • Partner with the tax team to ensure compliance with local requirements, including Income Tax audits, GST, TDS reporting, transfer pricing, and intercompany entries.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, banks, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex reporting issues and Indian GAAP application.
  • Collaborate with FP&A on forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead implementation of new systems, procedures, and policies.
  • Partner with global finance teams on cross-functional projects and other assigned work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) is strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience in both public accounting and private industry is highly desirable, with Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Experience managing accounting operations for a multinational company’s subsidiary in India.
  • Deep expertise in Indian GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Strong understanding of Indian tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
  • Experience managing audits in India.
  • Proficiency with large-scale ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with remote teams and stakeholders across different time zones.
