Description

  • Write concise, maintainable, and well-tested code using Ruby on Rails and/or Phoenix/Elixir.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, product designers, and other developers on client projects.
  • Collaborate on project management to help ensure satisfied clients and happy developers.
  • Record and submit time on a weekly basis as part of consultancy operations.
  • Contribute to the technical improvement and overall success of SmartLogic’s software development practice.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to continuously improve engineering skills.
  • Work on one client assignment at a time when possible, with occasional overlap across projects.

Requirements

  • Professional experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Phoenix/Elixir.
  • Motivation to learn and improve software development capabilities related to these technologies.
  • Experience communicating with clients and translating technical issues for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior professional experience showing strong teamwork and proactive communication.
  • Experience decomposing client requirements into actionable implementation plans.
  • Proficiency in or interest in Flutter for mobile app development.
  • Comfort participating in agile ceremonies such as standups, grooming sessions, and sprint reviews.
  • Availability to attend one multi-day team meeting per year and 0-2 client kickoff meetings per year in the continental US.

Benefits

  • Salary bands of $60,000-$90,000 for Junior Developer, $85,000-$115,000 for Mid Developer, and $110,000-$140,000 for Senior Developer.
