Description

  • Build and lead the Clinical Experience function, including hiring, mentoring, and scaling a team of clinical experts.
  • Own clinical relationships with key health system partners and serve as a trusted advisor to clinicians, CDI teams, and executives.
  • Drive onboarding and adoption of SmarterDx’s platform across customer organizations.
  • Develop and standardize playbooks for clinical onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement.
  • Partner with Customer Success to improve retention, expansion, and overall customer health.
  • Establish and track performance metrics such as adoption, utilization, clinical impact, and customer satisfaction.
  • Create feedback loops that turn customer insights into actionable product improvements.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape roadmap priorities based on real-world clinical workflows.
  • Support Sales as a clinical expert in late-stage deals and strategic accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and increase the scalability of the clinical experience function.

Requirements

  • MD or DO, or an equivalent advanced clinical degree.
  • Deep expertise in clinical documentation, ICD-10 coding, CDI, and revenue cycle operations.
  • 7–10+ years of relevant healthcare experience, with exposure to health systems or provider organizations.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role such as customer success, implementation, clinical consulting, or solutions engineering.
  • Proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage frontline clinicians and senior healthcare executives.
  • Ability to translate complex clinical workflows into clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams.
  • High-ownership mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguity and drive outcomes.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment.
  • Experience working at a healthcare technology or SaaS company is preferred.
  • Certifications such as CCDS, CDIP, RHIA, RHIT, or CCS are preferred.
  • Prior experience in CDI programs or revenue integrity initiatives is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner and clinical workflows is preferred.
  • Experience supporting enterprise sales or participating in complex deal cycles is preferred.

  • $200k–$250k base salary plus benefits.
