Description

Handle medium-voltage escalations for SMA customers and suppliers.
Partner with the Medium Voltage engineering team in SMA AG to resolve customer and supplier issues.
Perform warranty repairs, technical support, and extensive testing of SMA medium-voltage products.
Test, troubleshoot, repair, and analyze SMA large-scale medium-voltage systems in the field.
Conduct medium-voltage transformer core testing, field service work, operations and maintenance, and site visits.
Use high-voltage test equipment to identify root causes for internal quality 8D reports.
Develop processes and procedures for SMA medium-voltage products and associated accessories.
Perform DGA sampling, interpret DGA reports, and determine appropriate corrective actions.
Maintain accurate spare-parts inventory provided by SMA.
Collaborate with Global Service, Quality, and suppliers to provide root cause analysis and customer updates.

Requirements

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, without current or future visa sponsorship needs.
Certifications through AVO Training Institute or another accredited institution/trade school are required for Medium Voltage Transformer Levels I and II, Switch Gear and Circuit Breaker Maintenance with grounding and bonding, Electrical Safety for Utilities, and Substation Maintenance I and II.
Must be familiar with high-voltage test equipment and able to interpret the results.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is strongly preferred, or equivalent relevant years of experience.
At least 5 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications.
At least 5 years of experience with medium-voltage equipment.
Prior experience with cold weld patch repairs and field transformer repairs.
Experience with pad-mounted transformers, medium-voltage terminations, and switchgear operation is preferred.
Ability to work occasional nonstandard hours, including possible weekend and/or night work, to support customer contracts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, is required.
