Description

Assist with commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and analyzing SMA America’s utility inverters in the field through email, phone, and site visits.
Develop detailed knowledge of SMA utility inverter products and related SMA and third-party accessories.
Maintain accurate inventory counts of spare parts provided by SMA.
Work with high-voltage DC electricity, three-phase power, and inverter software and firmware.
Maintain high customer satisfaction while helping reduce field service costs.
Perform and support maintenance activities in accordance with SMA product maintenance manuals and customer contractual obligations.
Travel to customer sites as needed to support regional field service work.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field strongly preferred, or equivalent experience in the renewables industry.
At least 3 years of experience in electrical, electronic, and/or network communications.
Prior experience in the renewable energy industry strongly preferred.
Ability to work nonstandard business hours occasionally to support customer service contracts.
Knowledge of solar and/or alternative energy markets preferred.
Knowledge of the National Electric Code preferred.
Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
Significant domestic travel required, with possible international travel.
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship is available.
This position has regional responsibility and is based in the Western region.
