Description

  • Define and evolve Shakepay’s internal developer platform architecture.
  • Design and build core infrastructure that supports growing systems and teams.
  • Lead the development of internal tools and automations that improve developer productivity.
  • Design and implement infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices across the platform.
  • Build and evolve observability systems, including monitoring, alerting, and dashboards.
  • Design and implement AI-powered internal tools and agentic workflows for operational and development tasks.
  • Improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of the production environment.
  • Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams on system design and operational best practices.
  • Lead technical initiatives across multiple engineering teams.
  • Mentor engineers and guide technical decisions through design reviews and architecture discussions.
  • Influence the long-term technical direction of the infrastructure and platform ecosystem.
  • Participate in incident response and drive operational resilience improvements.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, SRE, or DevOps.
  • Strong programming experience in Go, Python, JavaScript, or an equivalent language.
  • Deep experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
  • Extensive experience with infrastructure-as-code and automated deployment systems.
  • Experience designing internal platforms or developer tools used by multiple teams.
  • Experience improving developer experience and engineering velocity through platform enhancements.
  • Experience building AI/LLM-based tools or workflows to automate tasks or increase developer productivity.
  • Excellent system design and architectural thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • A pragmatic mindset focused on solving real business problems.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Kafka, PostgreSQL, ArgoCD, Helm, or Datadog is a plus.
  • Experience designing internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure is a plus.
  • Experience building infrastructure in fintech or other regulated environments is a plus.
  • Experience supporting large-scale production systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Bitcoin and curiosity to learn more is a plus.
  • English fluency is required.

Benefits

  • Base salary of CAD $214,000 to $266,000.
  • Employee stock options as part of compensation.
