Description

  • Design, build, and operate shared cloud and networking platforms for a modern, containerized, service-oriented architecture.
  • Improve reliability, observability, security, and scalability through automation, standards, and abstractions.
  • Engineer resilient and observable networking infrastructure across regions and environments.
  • Build and maintain golden paths for compute, networking, and infrastructure to help teams deploy safely.
  • Participate in production operations, including release support, on-call rotation, incident response, and follow-up work.
  • Partner with application and platform teams to reduce deployment, routing, monitoring, and scaling friction.
  • Evolve shared infrastructure tooling, APIs, and standards to improve reliability and developer experience.
  • Evaluate new technologies and patterns with attention to maintainability and operational health.
  • Use automation and AI-assisted workflows to improve development and operational efficiency.
  • Share context and learnings through documentation, design discussions, and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Experience contributing to the design, development, or operation of cloud and infrastructure platforms that support other engineers or teams.
  • Hands-on experience running production workloads on AWS.
  • Experience designing and operating infrastructure with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools.
  • Experience building, operating, or supporting systems on Kubernetes (EKS), including containerized workloads and supporting platform services.
  • Experience designing or operating service networking and routing, such as service discovery, traffic management, or edge routing with tools like Cilium, Envoy, Kong, or Fastly.
  • Familiarity with observability tools and practices such as Datadog, including using metrics, logs, and traces to diagnose issues and improve reliability.
  • Ability to write and maintain automation or tooling in Go, Python, or Bash.
  • A thoughtful approach to engineering craftsmanship, including clean abstractions, readable code, and systems that are easy for others to operate.
  • Comfort collaborating across teams and explaining infrastructure and networking concepts clearly.
  • Commitment to learning and growth through knowledge sharing, documentation, and mentorship.
  • Experience with AI tooling such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code is helpful.
  • Salary range is $144,000 to $209,000 USD, with compensation influenced by skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.
