Description

  • Deliver secure-by-default protections across cloud, CI/CD, applications, and endpoints by building guardrails and paved roads that reduce risk at scale.
  • Provide practical security guidance for new products and technologies and help teams adopt secure patterns within existing workflows.
  • Lead design reviews and threat modeling for high-impact features and services, identifying risks early and ensuring mitigations are built in.
  • Build and scale security tooling that prevents issues at build and deploy time and automates detection and response in production.
  • Improve detection and incident response capabilities by tuning signals, increasing automation, and reducing manual toil.
  • Partner with business functions on company-wide security efforts, including endpoint trust, identity and email protections, awareness training, vendor reviews, risk assessments, and compliance support.
  • Protect the platform from abuse and bots through layered defenses and ongoing tuning.
  • Lead and participate in security incidents and tabletop exercises, and improve runbooks, processes, and communications after events.
  • Mentor engineers, improve secure coding practices, and help shape a pragmatic security culture across the company.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of broad, hands-on experience across multiple security domains with strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven experience leading cross-domain security projects end-to-end from design through rollout and adoption.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages; SeatGeek uses Python, Go, and C#.
  • Ability to write production-quality code and perform rigorous reviews for correctness and security.
  • Experience partnering across product, platform, and business functions to drive company-wide security outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver scalable security prevention across cloud/platform, applications, CI/CD, identity, and endpoints.
  • Ability to think like both an attacker and a defender to improve prevention, detection, and response.
  • Community contributions such as research, talks, blogging, or open source work are a plus.
  • Hands-on bot and abuse mitigation experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the listed stack is helpful but not required, including Datadog, AWS, GitLab, Kubernetes, Hex, Looker, Redshift, CrowdStrike, SQL, and Terraform.
