Description

  • Deliver proactive, secure-by-default protections across cloud, CI/CD, applications, and endpoints by creating paved roads and guardrails that reduce risk at scale.
  • Provide practical security guidance on new products and technologies and help teams adopt secure-by-default patterns.
  • Lead design reviews and threat modeling for high-impact features and services, identifying risks early and designing mitigations.
  • Build and scale security tooling that prevents issues at build and deploy time and automates detection and response in production.
  • Evolve detection and incident response capabilities by improving signal quality, tuning detections, and implementing automated responders.
  • Partner across business functions on endpoint and device trust, identity and email protections, security awareness, vendor reviews, risk assessments, and compliance support.
  • Protect SeatGeek from abuse and bots at the edge and application layers through layered defenses and tuning.
  • Lead and participate in security incidents and tabletop exercises, then improve runbooks, processes, and stakeholder communications.
  • Mentor engineers, improve secure coding practices, and help shape a pragmatic security culture across the company.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience across multiple security domains, with strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven experience leading cross-domain security projects end-to-end from design through rollout and adoption.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages; SeatGeek uses Python, Go, and C#.
  • Ability to write production-quality code and perform rigorous reviews for correctness and security.
  • Track record of partnering across product, platform, and business functions to drive company-wide security outcomes.
  • Experience delivering scalable prevention across platform/cloud, applications, CI/CD, identity, and endpoints.
  • Ability to think like both an attacker and a defender to improve prevention, detection, and response.
  • Community contributions such as research, talks, blogging, or open source are a plus.
  • Hands-on bot and abuse mitigation experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the listed stack is helpful, including Datadog, AWS, GitLab, Kubernetes, Hex, Looker, Redshift, CrowdStrike, SQL, and Terraform.
