Description

  • Build and maintain scalable web applications using the company's chosen web framework and stack.
  • Implement server-side logic, develop RESTful APIs, and manage background job processing.
  • Design and maintain database schemas and optimize queries for relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
  • Integrate applications with third-party APIs and connect front-end components with backend processes.
  • Implement automated testing, participate in code reviews, and ensure overall code quality.
  • Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other production issues.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineering teams within Agile/Scrum workflows.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and deployments to cloud or platform services (optional / senior responsibility).

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency with Ruby and Ruby on Rails, including MVC, ORM, and RESTful design.
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and schema design.
  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) to support integrations.
  • Proficiency with Git and version control best practices.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and effective remote communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience with Redis, Sidekiq, or other background job tools (nice-to-have).
  • Familiarity with Docker (nice-to-have).
  • Experience deploying applications to AWS, Heroku, or other cloud environments (nice-to-have).
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI (nice-to-have).
