Description

  • Support new aircraft program development and in-service aircraft on thermodynamics-related issues.
  • Perform analysis of aircraft ice and fog protection system performance, including zonal pressure, temperature, and flow rate.
  • Conduct avionics cooling and general thermal analysis of aircraft systems and structures.
  • Understand how analyzed systems interface with the aircraft and with other aircraft systems.
  • Collaborate with internal systems and structures teams, system suppliers, and flight test teams to resolve issues.
  • Plan tests, analyze results, and support certification of modifications.
  • Support activities related to bleed air systems, including the wing ice protection system, environmental control system, and ducting system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • Master’s degree with coursework in fluid dynamics, atmospheric icing, and heat transfer is an asset.
  • Knowledge of MS Office software.
  • Familiarity with aircraft pneumatics systems and their modeling is essential.
  • Familiarity with CATIA V5 is an asset.
  • Programming experience with Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic, or C/C++ is an asset.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Availability to travel on short-term assignments.
  • Experience or knowledge in Environmental Control Systems (ECS).
  • Experience or knowledge in bleed air systems.
  • Experience or knowledge in ice protection or anti-icing systems.
  • Experience or knowledge in thermal analysis or thermodynamics.
  • Experience or knowledge in avionics cooling.
