Description

  • Build and evolve core systems that review safety detections and determine which events are surfaced to customers.
  • Improve detection precision by identifying ambiguous cases, deflecting low-value reviews, and automating triage when confidence is high.
  • Work across backend systems, data, and AI-driven decisioning to improve product quality and review efficiency.
  • Partner with product, design, AI, and ML infrastructure teams to convert review outcomes into model feedback loops and better safety detections.
  • Own complex projects end-to-end, from technical approach and design through rollout, measurement, and production iteration.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate prototyping, implementation, debugging, and iteration while maintaining reliability and code quality.
  • Raise the bar for quality, operability, and engineering clarity across the Safety platform.
  • Collaborate with customer success and product managers and use metrics to validate customer outcomes.
  • Participate in customer interviews to better understand end-user needs and translate them into product improvements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software development experience, primarily in backend or distributed systems.
  • Experience on a product engineering team shipping systems that solve real customer problems.
  • Demonstrable focus on customer experience and the ability to connect technical decisions to customer value.
  • Strong programming and software engineering fundamentals with production experience in at least one modern programming language.
  • Experience designing and building large-scale, high-throughput systems.
  • Experience operating in a data-led and data-backed environment.
  • Strong cross-team and cross-functional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions clearly and constructively.
  • AI-first engineer who consistently uses modern AI coding and reasoning tools to improve efficiency, delivery, and code quality while validating outputs for correctness, maintainability, and reliability.
  • Preferred: Deep experience developing AI-native engineering workflows across design, implementation, debugging, testing, and automation.
  • Preferred: Experience operating or building real-world review systems, including human review, AI review, or data annotation/customer quality control workflows.
  • Preferred: Experience partnering closely with AI or ML teams and familiarity with classifier-based systems or model-driven product workflows.
  • Preferred: Deep experience in backend-oriented languages such as Go, Java, or similar.
  • Preferred: Experience designing orchestrated pipelines or workflow-based systems, such as Temporal or similar frameworks.
  • Preferred: Experience experimenting and iterating quickly against data to drive customer impact.
  • Preferred: A data-driven mindset with strong validation against reality and evidence-based decision making.
  • Preferred: A track record of mentoring others, improving systems, and raising team performance.
  • Preferred: Curiosity and ambition to challenge existing product and engineering approaches to solving real-world problems.
