Description

  • Become an expert on Samsara’s products and connected operations technology, including IoT, AI, and computer vision.
  • Articulate how customers in similar industries use Samsara to solve operational problems.
  • Deliver pre-sales work products such as discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Write and document scripts against the company’s open API to solve customer problems and support other sales engineers.
  • Advise customers as a consultant to drive integrations, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between product and sales teams by translating technical feedback and enrolling customers in beta programs.
  • Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare, and execute transactions in rapid sales cycles.
  • Support ad hoc technical questions and emails from sales executives.
  • Build relationships with third-party partners such as software providers, systems integrators, and installation partners.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles while working across teams and supporting global growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support role.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen and understanding of business processes and change management.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
  • Fluent in French.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and projects at different stages.
  • Master’s degree in one of the listed engineering or computer science disciplines, preferred.
  • Experience with task automation scripting and data transfer using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or a similar language, preferred.
  • Experience building solutions using open APIs, preferred.
  • Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO applications, preferred.
  • Hobbyist interest in electronic systems such as car audio, classic car restoration, home automation, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino, preferred.
  • Proven success selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles, preferred.
  • Knowledge of MEDDIC, BANT, CoM, and/or Value Selling concepts, preferred.
  • Experience working with product teams and feature request processes, preferred.
  • Fluent in English, preferred.
