Description

  • Become an expert on Samsara products and their application to physical operations.
  • Explain to prospects how similar businesses use Samsara to solve industry-specific challenges.
  • Lead discovery calls, product demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Guide installers on best practices for product installation and help build deployment plans.
  • Write and document proof-of-concept scripts using Samsara’s open API to address real-world customer problems.
  • Act as a consultant to customers to support integration, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Serve as a liaison between product and sales teams by translating technical feedback.
  • Enroll appropriate customers in beta programs.
  • Champion Samsara’s cultural principles while working across teams and new offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 5 years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support role.
  • Ability and mindset for continuous growth and development.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen and understanding of business processes and change management.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Experience with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or advanced education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: 8+ years of enterprise pre-sales experience.
  • Preferred: Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including CAN bus and PTO applications.
  • Preferred: Proven ability to identify and prioritize customer value in complex sales cycles.
  • Preferred: Hobbyist experience with electronics-driven projects such as car audio, classic car restoration, home automation, Raspberry Pi, or Arduino.
  • Preferred: Track record of selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles.
  • Preferred: Experience with task automation scripting and data transfer using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or an equivalent language.
  • Preferred: Experience building solutions with open APIs.
