Description

  • Own data architecture from ingestion through ETL, transformation, extracts, reporting, and dashboards.
  • Design and operate the platform architecture underlying AI engineering systems, from ingestion through serving.
  • Set technical standards for data infrastructure, pipelines, transformation logic, and platform reliability.
  • Build production-grade, deployable, observable, and stable systems and infrastructure.
  • Write and ship production code while leading architectural decisions.
  • Build and lead the data and platform team, including hiring, management, and mentoring.
  • Communicate architectural tradeoffs to engineers, architects, leadership, and business stakeholders.
  • Align platform investments with AI engineering, product, research, and business priorities.
  • Translate executive priorities into data strategy and architecture decisions and own their outcomes.

Requirements

  • 8+ years architecting and building production platforms; strong candidates with less experience may be considered.
  • Hands-on ownership of end-to-end data architecture, including ingestion, ETL, transformation, extracts, and BI/reporting.
  • Hands-on DevOps experience building, deploying, and operating production systems at scale.
  • Track record of writing and shipping production code rather than only producing designs.
  • Experience with distributed processing and streaming technologies such as Spark and Kafka.
  • Experience with NoSQL/document stores, data warehouses, and transactional databases, including MongoDB, DynamoDB, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Postgres, or MySQL.
  • Experience handling and detecting PHI/PII rigorously.
  • Experience with GitOps, Kubernetes, and AWS or equivalent cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, mentoring, and cross-functional alignment skills.
  • Experience leading teams or readiness to manage direct reports; AI/ML data platforms, vector databases, healthcare or regulated data, and greenfield platform development are preferred.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $220,000–$260,000.
