Description

  • Own the end-to-end AI development factory from conversation and specification through verified pull requests.
  • Build orchestration, agent pipelines, handoffs, success criteria, and cloud-based execution environments.
  • Develop verification systems using AI-generated tests, CI pipelines, synthetic data, sandbox databases, parity checks, and release gates.
  • Partner with founders, product owners, and engineers to identify workflow bottlenecks and enable non-engineers to ship safely.
  • Operate the team brain and watcher as reliable managed services with defined uptime, data, access, and runtime ownership.
  • Manage agent compute, runner fleets, cloud development environments, per-sandbox databases, and isolated AWS infrastructure.
  • Standardize tooling, accounts, model access, telemetry, secrets, sandbox data, and permissions across onshore and offshore teams.
  • Implement infrastructure guardrails using Terraform, policy-as-code, reviewed pull requests, and controlled production access.
  • Measure and improve engineering outcomes, including merged and reverted PRs, spec-to-PR time, cost per PR, and adoption outside engineering.
  • Define the AI software development roadmap and lead execution at Principal and future platform-group leadership scope.

Requirements

  • Experience building AI-native developer infrastructure, including agent runners, preview environments, verification pipelines, or model gateways.
  • Platform engineering experience building infrastructure and tools used by other engineers, preferably at a developer-tools company or similar startup.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes on AWS, especially EKS, Terraform, and GitHub Actions; willingness to carry an on-call pager.
  • Strong continuous-delivery and DORA-metrics experience in high-deployment environments.
  • Experience designing automated testing systems with fixtures, seeded test data, test-only APIs, service mocks, contract tests, ephemeral environments, and deterministic assertions.
  • Ability to write clear technical designs and RFCs and collaborate with senior platform, security, product, and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience operating in fast-paced, resource-constrained startups with substantial autonomy and ownership.
  • Hands-on experience using AI agents daily and building systems that enable others to use them effectively.
  • Preferred experience with self-hosted CI runners, browser test fleets, open-weight model evaluation, or bare-metal cost optimization.
  • Preferred experience with ClickHouse, MySQL, Redis, commerce or payments infrastructure, PCI environments, or founding and early-stage operating roles.
