Description

  • Own recommender systems that guide job seekers and employers toward high-quality matches.
  • Build and maintain taxonomies that model the evolving landscape of skills, occupations, and careers.
  • Prototype and evaluate agentic AI solutions for job seekers, employers, and case workers.
  • Advise on data science strategy and roadmap decisions, including evaluation of major field developments.
  • Apply state-of-the-art machine learning and NLP techniques to production problems.
  • Lead projects from ambiguous problem statements to deployed models with measurable outcomes.
  • Mentor teammates and act as a tech lead to improve the quality, rigor, and speed of work.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate technical results into actionable insights.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined experience in industry and/or graduate-level research.
  • Proficiency training and evaluating ML and NLP models using structured and unstructured data with reproducible results.
  • Expert-level programming and software engineering skills with a track record of reusable and well-documented code.
  • Practical experience using LLMs to accelerate model development, such as synthesizing training data or automating evaluation.
  • Proven ability to own a problem space from 0 to 1 and translate vague business problems into production models.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting models and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with recommendation systems, taxonomies, or AI agents (bonus).
  • Experience with data engineering, analytics, dashboards, or BI tools (bonus).
  • Experience with A/B testing or causal analysis (bonus).
  • An economics or social sciences background, especially labor market analysis or modeling experience (bonus).
  • Public evidence of expertise such as publications, conference talks, open-source releases, or other artifacts related to advanced ML/NLP (bonus).
  • Located in the United States or Canada and willing to work remotely with ET preferred.
  • Willing to travel up to once per quarter.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $115,000-$140,000.
  • Remote work within the United States or Canada, with Eastern Time preferred.
