Description

  • Oversee and manage multiple software engineering teams to ensure efficient execution and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Hire, build, lead, and mentor engineering teams, including engineering managers and senior engineers.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top engineering talent to build high-performing, diverse teams.
  • Develop and communicate the long-term technical vision and engineering strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Work with C-level executives to translate business needs into actionable engineering plans.
  • Collaborate with product management to develop, prioritize, and staff the engineering roadmap.
  • Plan and manage the engineering budget while balancing project needs and cost constraints.
  • Ensure teams follow software development processes and standards, including Scrum, automated testing, internationalization, usability, scalability, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Continuously improve development processes to reduce bottlenecks and increase cross-functional collaboration.
  • Oversee design and development of advanced, fault-tolerant software solutions that scale across hundreds of servers.
  • Communicate progress, technical challenges, and project outcomes to executive leadership.
  • Align stakeholders across product, operations, business, clients, partners, and external stakeholders on technical initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development.
  • Proven ability to build and retain engaged, high-performing software development teams.
  • Experience managing the full software development lifecycle of SaaS applications at scale.
  • Experience navigating a fast-paced, dynamic industry such as e-commerce and delivering products that gain market share.
  • Demonstrated experience driving AI adoption within engineering organizations, including generative AI tools and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Experience leading large-scale platform modernization initiatives, including cloud-native architectures, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and operational scalability.
  • Experience supporting enterprise compliance and regulatory initiatives with engineering, product, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a closely related field (preferred).
  • Experience with web development, web services, and distributed processing models (preferred).
  • Experience scaling applications in AWS and on-premise (preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and optimization skills (preferred).
  • Familiarity with agile software development practices such as Kanban and Scrum (preferred).
  • Proven track record of creating scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant software that runs across dozens or hundreds of servers (preferred).
  • Experience with e-commerce, retail, online marketplaces, or digital marketing (preferred).
  • Travel required up to 20%.

  • Base salary range of $175,000-$328,000 per year.
