Description

  • Own and shape Rising’s portfolio of education offerings, including standards and guidance for contextual adaptation.
  • Lead evidence-based product research and development, determining what should scale, remain experimental, or stop.
  • Evaluate and integrate AI and third-party digital solutions where they improve quality or affordability and strengthen human capability.
  • Equip teachers, school leaders, and system leaders with digitally enabled tools for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee a cost-effective impact measurement framework to inform decisions across programs and stages of scale.
  • Build capabilities to co-design and test solutions with governments and demonstrate what works in classrooms and public education systems.
  • Develop research collaborations that strengthen Rising’s contribution to evidence on government-led education reform.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team across academics, digital technology, innovation, data, and impact.
  • Establish systems and ways of working that enable connected, collaborative functions.
  • Support senior leadership decisions with relevant evidence and represent Rising externally with governments, funders, and researchers.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in education, edtech, or product leadership, including significant senior leadership experience.
  • Track record of designing, developing, and scaling products or programs with measurable outcomes, ideally in Africa.
  • Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams spanning academics, product, data, or related functions.
  • Direct experience working with or within government systems and global funders, preferably in Africa.
  • Strong knowledge of learning science and the ability to make research- and data-informed decisions.
  • Ability to assess AI, digital products, and data systems and distinguish genuine value from hype.
  • Experience delivering complex, large-scale, multi-year programs on time and within budget.
  • Experience with iterative design and testing processes to improve program or product outcomes.
  • Budget ownership experience for an organization or large business unit.
  • Advanced degree in education, economics, product design, learning sciences, or a related field preferred.
