Description

  • Investigate and reconstruct single- and multiple-vehicle collisions.
  • Analyze work zone traffic control plans, traffic signal timing plans, and traffic control devices.
  • Perform collision scene evidence analysis and forensic mapping of collision sites and vehicles.
  • Prepare timely analysis, written reports, diagrams, charts, and other demonstrative materials.
  • Present findings to clients and support litigation with expert testimony, depositions, or trial testimony.
  • Inspect roadways, traffic signals, traffic control devices, and vehicles including cars, trucks, and tractor-trailers.
  • Document, preserve, and manage physical and scene evidence.
  • Inspect automotive or mechanical parts to determine the origin and cause of failure when applicable.
  • Collaborate with clients and provide clear verbal and written explanations of findings.
  • Conduct field inspections and travel to job sites as needed.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 2-10+ years of experience required.
  • 6+ years of accident reconstruction experience for part-time and ex-law enforcement candidates.
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in engineering preferred.
  • PTOE certification preferred.
  • Professional working experience in traffic engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and independent judgment.
  • Ability to provide expert witness testimony and testify in deposition or trial.
