Description

  • Work with licensed professionals on the design, assessment, and construction of building projects.
  • Perform field assessments at active sites, including rooftops, ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, and building service rooms.
  • Provide technical support for assessments, upgrades, maintenance, restoration, and design-related work on new and existing buildings.
  • Perform calculations under the supervision of a design professional as needed.
  • Research historical and current building codes and standards.
  • Review product submittals, samples, mock-ups, testing reports, data sheets, and warranties.
  • Maintain project documentation, including submittals, ASIs, ESIs, RFIs, and related records.
  • Communicate findings and prepare written reports for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Support construction oversight, quality control/assurance, assembly testing, construction administration, and project management activities.
  • Travel to local and regional job sites and conduct site inspections as required.

Requirements

  • 0-6 years of experience in the design, assessment, and/or construction of building systems.
  • Building inspection and construction experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, building science, or another construction-related field preferred.
  • Experience with structural, roof, building envelope, or façade repairs, execution, and oversight preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) designation with an emphasis on structural design is a plus.
  • IIBEC certifications are a plus.
  • Estimating and project take-off experience are a plus.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction documents and verify compliance with them is required.
  • Excellent report writing skills are required.
  • Strong organization, time management, communication, critical thinking, and independent judgment skills are required.
