Description

  • Manage a range of forensic human factors consulting projects, including multi-disciplinary engagements.
  • Conduct field investigations, site inspections, and product inspections.
  • Perform physical testing and data acquisition, including testing involving human subjects.
  • Research technical data, scientific literature, statutes, regulations, legal articles, and standards.
  • Analyze findings and provide written analysis to consultants.
  • Prepare expert reports, deposition summaries, and affidavits.
  • Meet with colleagues, clients, and other professionals to discuss cases and project needs.
  • Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, evidence, exhibits, depositions, and pleadings.
  • Provide deposition and trial testimony.
  • Track and maintain records of billable hours for assigned cases.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Cognitive, Experimental, or Industrial Psychology, Neuroscience, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Human Factors, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of work experience in human factors litigation consulting support preferred.
  • Ph.D. in Cognitive, Experimental, or Industrial Psychology, Neuroscience, Industrial & Systems Engineering, or Human Factors preferred.
  • Board Certification from BCPE and/or Professional Engineer license preferred.
  • Understanding of legal language, legal principles, research methods, court pleadings, and court processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment and maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform field inspections, move debris, inspect vehicles, drive to job sites, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to comply with required overtime and travel up to 25%, including overnight and field travel.
