Description

  • Conduct forensic examinations of iOS and Android mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
  • Acquire and preserve digital evidence using industry-standard forensic hardware and software.
  • Bypass or overcome device security features when legally permissible and ethical to access data.
  • Recover data from damaged, locked, or malfunctioning mobile devices.
  • Analyze mobile data such as call logs, messages, contacts, media, email, application data, web history, location data, and social media activity.
  • Perform SIM card and SD card analysis.
  • Document findings, methodologies, and chain of custody in clear forensic reports.
  • Present technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain awareness of current mobile forensic tools, techniques, operating system updates, and security features.
  • Collaborate with team members on mobile-device investigations and travel as needed for cases.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in digital forensics investigations, with a significant portion focused on mobile device forensics.
  • Experience in law enforcement, information technology, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience with mobile forensic tools such as Cellebrite UFED/Physical Analyzer, Magnet AXIOM, or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills applied to digital forensic investigations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of legal and evidentiary procedures related to mobile device evidence.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME), Magnet Certified Forensic Examiner (MCFE), CMDE, or similar preferred.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python for mobile forensic tasks preferred.
  • Experience in courtroom testimony and depositions preferred.
