Description

  • Investigate and analyze existing conditions or historic events in residential, commercial, industrial, and public settings.
  • Evaluate and help control exposure to chemical, biological, and physical health hazards, including noise, microbial contaminants, fire effluents, mold, and workplace accidents.
  • Operate sampling and testing equipment to support field investigations.
  • Communicate with clients about project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Prepare oral and written reports documenting findings, analysis, and conclusions.
  • Provide deposition and/or trial testimony when required.
  • Travel locally and occasionally overnight throughout California for project work.
  • Manage, plan, coordinate, conduct, and complete complex investigations with support from Rimkus staff.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in a science or engineering field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist certification is required.
  • Strong regulatory experience with federal and/or state OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of or experience in building sciences is preferred.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex ideas to a broad audience.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to wear a tight-fitting respirator.
  • Must reside in the Los Angeles, Irvine, San Francisco, or San Jose, CA areas.
  • Ability to travel locally and occasionally on overnight assignments.
