Description

  • Lead engineering efforts for the core banking backend.
  • Design, build, and operate distributed backend systems.
  • Make architectural decisions for backend services and system evolution.
  • Debug and resolve production issues in critical services.
  • Scale services to meet reliability and performance needs.
  • Mentor engineering teams on best practices and technical execution.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product team on roadmap shaping and feature direction.
  • Ensure solutions account for regulatory constraints and commercial relevance.

Requirements

  • Solid background in Java backend development with hands-on experience before moving into leadership.
  • Experience building banking products, ideally in retail banking or fintech.
  • Experience collaborating with Product teams on roadmap shaping and feature definition.
  • Understanding of regulatory constraints and work in regulated environments is a plus.
  • Exposure to core banking systems such as ledgering, payments, or cards is a plus.
  • Fluent Russian and English language skills.
  • Hands-on experience with distributed backend systems.
  • Experience with the current stack, including AWS EKS, Java Spring Boot, MySQL, Kafka, Redis, Grafana, and Prometheus.
