Description

  • Steward the architecture, technical direction, and long-term health of business-critical web systems.
  • Identify and lead high-impact improvements to products, reliability, and engineering effectiveness.
  • Make pragmatic architectural decisions that balance scalability, customer value, maintainability, security, and system health.
  • Establish and model effective AI-first engineering workflows with appropriate quality safeguards.
  • Mentor engineers, distribute technical ownership, and raise team capabilities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and other departments to deliver cohesive customer experiences.
  • Help evolve engineering practices and technology choices as product needs change.

Requirements

  • Experience shaping architecture and technical direction for significant production systems.
  • Strong backend, distributed-systems, and modern web application fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience using AI in engineering work and critically evaluating AI-generated output.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly and evaluate technical tradeoffs without attachment to a specific language or framework.
  • Pragmatic technical leadership demonstrated through sound judgment, collaboration, and execution.
  • Experience with PHP/Laravel, React, TypeScript, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Cloudflare, or comparable technologies (preferred).
  • Experience with commerce, billing, identity, licensing, entitlements, or APIs serving desktop applications (preferred).
  • Experience modernizing mature systems, improving developer workflows, or implementing AI-assisted development practices (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Renewed Vision products or live-production workflows in worship, broadcast, sports, or live events (preferred).
