Description

  • Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
  • Participate in product discussions by providing feedback, suggesting solutions, and recommending product improvements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s product and engineering domain.
  • Review code and contribute to the shared codebase.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring processes, and RFC discussions.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate, propose, and help implement platform improvements.
  • Design interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
  • Build and operationalize agentic workflows end to end, from specification and planning through execution and verification.
  • Create reusable agentic workflows and primitives for use across domains.
  • Use tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to verify results are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins, or similar systems.
  • Strong automation and AI capabilities with AI fluency.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, or React/Vue/Angular is preferred.
  • Experience working with Elixir and Phoenix is relevant to the stack.
  • Experience working in fully remote, asynchronous environments is relevant.
