Description

  • Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
  • Work with product and engineering partners to provide feedback, suggest solutions, and improve product direction.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
  • Review code and contribute to the shared codebase.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring activities, RFC discussions, and other non-team initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate, propose, and help implement platform improvements.
  • Implement interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
  • Design, operationalize, and scale agentic workflows end-to-end, including spec, plan, execute, and verify steps.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives that teams can apply across domains.
  • Use verification loops such as tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure work is correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, define clear specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, or React/Vue/Angular is preferred.
  • Experience with Elixir and Phoenix is relevant to the role.
  • Experience working with React and Next.js on the front end is relevant to the role.
  • Ability to apply automation and AI capabilities in role-specific work is expected.
