Description

  • Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and participate in cross-team initiatives for Remote’s HR and Payroll products.
  • Design, build, and contribute to shared codebases, tools, APIs, and integrations for product teams.
  • Actively participate in product work: provide feedback, suggest technical solutions, and propose product improvements based on engineering insights.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues, and participate in support rotations and operational activities.
  • Provide and receive feedback through code reviews and mentor other engineers.
  • Investigate, propose, and implement platform and process improvements to increase reliability, security, and developer velocity.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships by proposing and operationalizing agentic/autonomous workflows as the default execution layer.
  • Define, implement, and reuse agentic workflows end-to-end (spec → plan → execute → verify) and build reusable primitives for cross-domain application.
  • Use verification loops (tests, checks, evaluations, guardrails) to ensure outcomes are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Implement interfaces with attention to performance, accessibility, and API design.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic/automation workflows (or comparable systems) and iterating to improve them.
  • Ability to think in systems: define specifications, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres (or similar relational databases).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins or similar) and deployment-driven workflows.
  • Comfort working asynchronously and remotely across distributed teams and time zones.
  • Willingness to participate in non-team activities such as support rotations, hiring, RFC discussions, and architecture reviews.
  • Nice to have: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, and frontend frameworks (React/Vue/Angular).
  • Fluency in English for application and interview process; start date: as soon as possible.
