Description

  • Lead team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
  • Participate in product discussions by providing feedback, suggesting solutions, and improving product direction with technical input.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
  • Review code and contribute to the shared codebase.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
  • Take part in support rotations, hiring processes, and RFC discussions.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate, propose, and help implement platform improvements.
  • Design interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
  • Redesign engineering delivery around autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Define and operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end from spec to plan to execute to verify.
  • Build reusable agentic workflow primitives that can be applied across domains.
  • Use verification loops such as tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure correctness, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining clear specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins, or similar.
  • Experience with Elixir and Phoenix is relevant to the backend stack.
  • Experience with React and Next.js is relevant to the frontend stack.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Docker is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS is a plus.
