Description

  • Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote's HR and Payroll products.
  • Build tools, APIs, and integrations for Remote's products.
  • Participate in product discussions by providing feedback, suggesting solutions, and proposing product improvements.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s domain from both product and engineering perspectives.
  • Review code and contribute to the shared codebase.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring processes, RFC discussions, and other non-team activities.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate, propose, and help implement platform improvements.
  • Design interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships with autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from spec to plan to execute to verify.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives that can be applied across domains.
  • Use verification loops such as tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure correct, secure, reliable, and scalable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems: define clear specs, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Experience with Elixir and Phoenix is relevant to the backend stack.
  • Experience with React and Next.js is relevant to the frontend stack.
  • Experience with Kubernetes (nice to have).
  • Experience with Docker (nice to have).
  • Experience with AWS (nice to have).
  • Experience with React, Vue, or Angular (nice to have).
