Description

  • Lead the development of major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote’s HR and Payroll products.
  • Participate in product discussions by providing feedback, suggesting solutions, and proposing product improvements based on technical insight.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the team’s product and engineering domain.
  • Review code and contribute to the shared codebase.
  • Debug and resolve technical and business issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring processes, RFC discussions, and other non-team activities.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate, propose, and help implement improvements to the platform.
  • Implement interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
  • Design and operationalize agentic workflows end-to-end, including spec, plan, execute, and verify loops.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase for use across teams.
  • Use verification loops such as tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to ensure solutions are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping production systems that are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems: define specs clearly, break down plans, instrument verification, and close the loop on quality.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Kubernetes experience is preferred.
  • Docker experience is preferred.
  • AWS experience is preferred.
  • Next.js experience is preferred.
  • Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
  • Experience working with Elixir and Phoenix is not required but is part of the team’s stack.
  • Ability to submit a CV in PDF format in English.
  • Willingness to interview and complete an async code exercise and review as part of the process.
