Description

  • Lead major team-scoped projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives for Remote’s HR and Payroll products.
  • Build tools, APIs, and integrations for one of Remote’s products.
  • Participate in product discussions by providing technical feedback, proposing solutions, and suggesting product improvements.
  • Maintain strong understanding of the team’s product domain and engineering context.
  • Review code and provide feedback to other engineers.
  • Contribute to the shared codebase and help debug technical and business issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring processes, and RFC discussions as needed.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers.
  • Investigate and implement improvements to the platform.
  • Design interfaces with performance, accessibility, and API design in mind.
  • Redesign engineering workflows to use autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Develop and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from spec to verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives across the codebase.
  • Use testing, checks, evals, and guardrails to verify quality, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including writing clear specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Experience with Postgres or a similar database.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Experience with functional programming languages such as Elixir, Erlang, Scala, Clojure, or Haskell is preferred.
  • Experience with Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Experience with Docker is preferred.
  • Experience with AWS is preferred.
  • Experience with Next.js is preferred.
  • Experience with React, Vue, or Angular is preferred.
