Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 backend and frontend engineers.
  • Spend part of the role on people management while also participating in product development.
  • Support hiring for the team and potentially assist peers with hiring efforts.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers joining the team.
  • Manage team dynamics, act as the team spokesperson, and help each person do their best work.
  • Give continuous, constructive feedback and provide coaching and guidance.
  • Support the growth and career development of direct reports.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships with autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase and use verification loops to ensure quality, security, reliability, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with Frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, ES6, and Jest, or Backend technologies such as Elixir and Phoenix.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs clearly, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the loop on quality.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Committed to promoting Remote's values, diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Experience in a kind, people-first leadership approach is preferred.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics is preferred.
