Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 backend and frontend engineers.
  • Spend about 30% of the role on management work and remain actively involved in product development.
  • Participate in hiring and support recruitment for the team and peers when needed.
  • Own onboarding for new engineers joining the team.
  • Manage team dynamics and serve as the spokesperson for the team.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, coaching, and guidance to team members.
  • Support the growth and career development of each direct report.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships using autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Design and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and use verification loops to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Experience managing an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with Frontend technologies such as React, JavaScript, ES6, and Jest, or Backend technologies such as Elixir and Phoenix.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs clearly, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the quality loop.
  • Solid communication skills and solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to inspire others, build confidence, and work with a kind, people-first approach.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics and commitment to promoting Remote’s values.
