Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend.
  • Spend about 30% of time on management work while also participating in product development.
  • Support hiring, interviewing, and onboarding for the team and potentially assist peers with hiring.
  • Serve as the spokesperson for the team and manage team dynamics to bring out the best in each member.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback and coaching to direct reports.
  • Own the career growth and development of each direct report.
  • Redesign how engineering work ships with autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Propose and operationalize end-to-end agentic workflows from specification through verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives that can be applied across domains.
  • Use tests, checks, evals, and guardrails to verify results are correct, secure, reliable, and scalable.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with backend development, preferably Elixir/Phoenix, Ruby, or functional programming.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them iteratively.
  • Ability to think in systems and translate specs into plans, verification, and quality loops.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with efficient processes in a kind, people-first way.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics.
  • Ambitious and intentional commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
  • Location anywhere in the world.
