Description

  • Manage a small product team of 3-5 engineers across backend and frontend work.
  • Spend about 30% of the role on management while actively participating in product development.
  • Lead hiring efforts for the team and support peers in recruiting when needed.
  • Own the onboarding process for new engineers.
  • Manage team dynamics, act as the team spokesperson, and help bring out the best in each team member.
  • Provide continuous, constructive feedback, guidance, and coaching.
  • Support the growth and career development of each direct report.
  • Redesign engineering delivery to use autonomous agents as the default execution layer.
  • Design and operationalize agentic workflows end to end, from specification through execution and verification.
  • Build reusable agentic workflows and primitives in the codebase and use verification loops to ensure correct, secure, reliable, and scalable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Managed an engineering team of at least 2 people.
  • Extensive experience with frontend technologies including React, JavaScript, ES6, and Jest, or backend technologies including Elixir and Phoenix.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals with a track record of shipping secure, reliable, and scalable production systems.
  • Practical experience designing or adopting agentic or automation workflows, or comparable systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Ability to think in systems, including defining specs, breaking down plans, instrumenting verification, and closing the loop on quality.
  • Solid communication skills.
  • Solid knowledge of engineering and development principles and best practices.
  • Proven organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • A kind, people-first approach focused on efficient processes.
  • Ability to inspire others and instill confidence.
  • Good understanding of team dynamics.
