Description

  • Research employee benefits plans and vendors to identify the best value options.
  • Design, recommend, and implement new benefits programs and plan changes.
  • Negotiate with vendors and administrators to secure competitive plans, options, and rates.
  • Serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Ensure benefits programs comply with applicable government regulations.
  • Analyze current benefits programs, including usage, coverage, effectiveness, cost, and competitive trends.
  • Review cost estimates, projections, and statistical analyses for benefits modifications and new programs.
  • Forecast benefits trends and develop recommendations for future plan design.
  • Provide customer support to internal and external stakeholders and create communication tools that improve benefits understanding.
  • Identify automation and process improvement opportunities and collaborate cross-functionally on implementation and renewals.

Requirements

  • Experience in benefits administration, customer service, and designing quality benefits plans, including retirement plans.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to assess business impact and negotiate terms.
  • Demonstrated strategic negotiation skills focused on financial and practical competitiveness.
  • Strong project management skills, including reporting, due date adherence, and process iteration.
  • Strong analytical skills and thorough knowledge of benefits plan designs.
  • Ability to evaluate proposals and RFPs and make sound judgments.
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language.
  • Ability to learn and configure HR or benefits platforms; experience with benefits administration systems, APIs, or workflow tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency using AI tools to improve research, analysis, and operational workflows.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work autonomously as a "manager of one."
  • Remote work experience is preferred but not required.
