Description

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a remote revenue cycle team including billers, coders, AR specialists, and denial staff.
  • Oversee the full revenue cycle from charge capture and claim submission through payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable resolution.
  • Ensure claims are submitted accurately and on time across all locations and payer types.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, denial trends, and escalated accounts to ensure timely resolution.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key revenue cycle performance metrics for leadership and the CFO.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, policies, procedures, and training materials for the billing function.
  • Manage compliance with federal and state regulations, payer contracts, CMS guidelines, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex payer disputes, contract issues, credentialing matters, audits, and investigations.
  • Evaluate workflows, systems, and tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, collections performance, and charge capture.
  • Collaborate with practice administrators, office managers, clinical leadership, compliance, legal, and IT to resolve billing issues and reduce denials.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of medical billing and revenue cycle experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience managing a billing team in a multi-location healthcare, specialty, or dermatology practice.
  • Strong knowledge of the full revenue cycle, including charge entry, coding, claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable.
  • Working knowledge of dermatology CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding across medical, surgical, and cosmetic service lines.
  • Proficiency with practice management and billing software used in specialty or dermatology settings.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret revenue cycle metrics, identify root causes, and drive measurable improvement.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing performance and developing team members.
  • Comfort working in a fully remote leadership role with a distributed team.
  • Direct experience managing revenue cycle operations for a dermatology, plastic surgery, or aesthetics practice is preferred.
  • Experience with Modernizing Medicine (EMA), Nextech, Availity, Waystar, or similar platforms is preferred.
  • CPC, CPMA, CHBME, or other relevant billing, coding, or healthcare management certification is preferred.
  • Experience building or scaling a remote revenue cycle team from the ground up is preferred.
  • Background in payer contract negotiation or credentialing management is preferred.
  • This is a full-time, 100% remote role.
  • Rate starts at $13 per hour.
