Description

  • Validate datasets for plausibility, completeness, consistency, and outliers before building dashboards.
  • Investigate and reconcile questionable metrics against operational reality and stakeholder feedback.
  • Document data quality findings, caveats, limitations, sources, transformations, and refresh logic.
  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards for executive, director, and department audiences.
  • Develop automated reporting and dashboard refresh processes and troubleshoot failures quickly.
  • Connect Power BI to EMR, CRM, survey, outcome tracking, and other source systems using native connectors, REST APIs, ODBC, SQL, and file extracts.
  • Create ad hoc reports with clear methodology and assumptions.
  • Track and report on clinical outcomes, admissions conversion, marketing performance, revenue, and alumni engagement.
  • Translate leadership questions into dashboards that support decisions, not just visualizations.
  • Audit data quality across source systems on a recurring basis and participate in scheduled stakeholder calls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Health Informatics, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • 5+ years building production Power BI dashboards used by business leadership, with verifiable references.
  • Expert-level Power BI experience with DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling, RLS, and Power BI Service.
  • Strong SQL skills and confidence querying relational databases.
  • Experience integrating Power BI with at least 3 distinct source systems such as CRM, EMR/EHR, survey platforms, or financial systems.
  • Proven ability to identify, catch, and resolve data quality issues.
  • Experience with healthcare or behavioral-health data, including EMR/EHR exports, CRM pipelines, and survey instruments.
  • Microsoft certification preferred, such as PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week aligned to Arizona (Mountain Time) business hours.
  • Reliable high-speed internet (minimum 50 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up), backup power, and a private secure home workspace.
  • Willingness to sign a BAA, Independent Contractor Agreement, and NDA before system access.
  • Completion of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 training with certificate prior to system access, with annual renewal required.
  • Compliance with security controls including encrypted device, MFA, VPN, no local PHI storage, and no personal cloud storage.
